1. Date Night Double Feature

Enjoy not one but two shows centered all around love at Funhouse Lounge. A comfy circus themed bar which has various performances per week is performing “Date Night Double Feature” which discusses love’s cruel effect on us. One show will even have performers spilling secrets to the audience, and the other show is about a girl looking for her prince charming in all the wrong places. This story sounds too real! Performances are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door and run through February 26th at 7:00 PM at Funhouse Lounge (2432 SE 11th Ave, Portland, OR 97214).

2. Buy chocolate and win diamond earrings

Have you ever heard the song Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend? Well why not try snagging some diamond earrings for the one you love. Pix Patisserie, a french bakery and chocolatier in Portland, will be selling various Valentine inspired desserts including chocolate covered cherry macaroons, heart shaped cakes, and most importantly boxes of assorted chocolates. One lucky customer will receive a pair of one carat black and white diamond stud earrings hidden in their box. And even if you don’t win, you’ve got a delicious box of quality chocolates, which means happiness all around!

3. Fall in love with Portland and its chocolate

Chocolate

Nothing goes together quite like chocolate and Valentine’s Day. Lucky for you, Portland Walking Tours has a very special tour called the Chocolate Decadence Walking Tour, and it is exactly what it sound like. You’ll spend two and a half hours touring downtown Portland, visiting chocolatiers that feature both local and imported chocolates. Of course the best part is the samples! You’ll get 15+ tastings at a variety of local vendors. If that weren’t enough, you’ll get interesting, lively commentary from your Resident Expert (aka tour guide) as they lead you through the guided tastings to help you better discover and appreciate the nuances of chocolate in its various forms and types. The Chocolate Decadence tour takes place Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30 PM, and Valentine’s weekend is almost sold out, so act fast! Tours meet under Pioneer Courthouse Square, 701 SW 6th Ave. To purchase tickets, gift vouchers, or for more information, visit portlandwalkingtours.com or call 503-774-4522.

Portland has some truly lovely outdoor spaces, and what better day to visit them than on Valentine’s Day?! Some include the International Rose Test Garden, Multnomah Falls, Mt. Tabor Park, and one of our favorites, the Eastbank Esplanade where you can place a love lock on the fence to profess your undying love for one another. These might even be perfect proposal spots if you’re thinking that far ahead. It would definitely be a day they would never forget.

5. Go to an Anti-Valentine Dance Party

For those of you who are not huge fans of this day, don’t worry, we have something for you, too! Check out EastBurn (1800 E Burnside St), a neighborhood Public House, which will host the 4th Annual Stupid Cupid Dance Party on February 13th at 9:00 PM. Who knows, you might even meet someone who despises the day as much or even more than you do!
