Lyft Like You Mean It

June 26th, 2017

So, it’s Friday night in Portland and you and a friend are off to your restaurant pick of the evening. Your friend attempts to hail a cab. Scratch that. You summon a Lyft instead using the handy app you just downloaded. A couple clicks and you’re done. Easy. Once you’ve succumbed to Lyft Portland’s charms, you start noticing that little pink sign all over town, like the urban beacon that it is. Ever wondered where all those other Lyft passengers are going? Thanks to the company’s Lyftie awards, you no longer have to. Let’s take a look back at the 2016 winners.

Portland Lyft keeps track of every one of their drop-off destinations and tallies up the numbers. Then they bestow honors in the form of Lyftie awards to the designees that top the list – those destinations with the highest number of Lyft passenger drop-offs over the previous twelve months. Here are 2016’s grand prize winners:

  • Most Visited Portland Restaurant – 10 Barrel Brewing

  • Most Visited Portland Bar – White Owl Social Club

  • Most Visited Portland Event Venue – Mississippi Studios and Bar Bar

  • Most Visited Portland-area Transit Stop – Sunset Transit Center

  • “Only In Portland” Award – Powell’s Books

  • Trending Destination in Portland Award – Century Bar

And you thought you were just catching a convenient and cost-effective ride.

Whoever said that a picture is worth a thousand words must not have been a Lyft rider. Pictures do talk but mostly in poetic terms. Numbers, however, reveal every secret.

If you already Lyft, then congratulations are in order. If not, why wait? Join Lyft and you will automatically be set up to influence next year’s contenders (no pressure, really!). There’s no better time. Portland Walking Tours and Portland Lyft have paired up to offer new riders $15 in free rides. Check out this amazing Lyft promo and get moving today!
