Hop Heads Meet Us in Hood River!

September 19th, 2011

One of our favorite things about the start of fall is that means its hop harvest time! And hop harvest means fresh-hopped craft beers.

The Willamette Valley and Yakima Valley across the Columbia produce about 90% of the US premium hop crop. That means local brewers can fire up the brew kettles, go out and pick hops, and hop there beer with fresh-hops just hours old, producing beers that are just packed full of hoppy goodness.

The Hood River Fresh Hop Beer “Tastival” takes place Oct 1st in Downtown Hood River from non-9 p.m. There will be about a dozen local brewers showing off their fresh-hopped creations. Admission is just $6 for a mug and then tokens good for 4 oz tastings are just $1. Designated drivers can get in for just $4 and everyone under 21 is welcome free of charge to take in the sights (just not the tastes) until 6 p.m.
