Tours: Beyond Bizarre

Overview (click here to view)

If you want a bone-chilling good time, then this is the right adventure for you! Unexplained mysteries, ghostly adventures and spooky stories abound on our “Beyond Bizarre” tour. If you like the paranormal, weird, or wacky, let us be your guide to an evening of adventure. Believer or not - people of all faiths and backgrounds, including skeptics, are welcomed.

If you've seen the "Ghost Hunters" TV show, then you might be familiar with the equipment we hand out at the start of the event. (Please note: only guests with advanced tickets will receive equipment.) Once armed with real ghost hunting equipment, we'll venture down shadowy streets to reveal Portland’s paranormal past, catch glimpses of ghosts, expose psychic hoaxes and duck through haunted passageways. This is NOT a theatrical performance where we dress up in "old time" clothing and carry a lantern. This is a view into the reality of Portland's weird, wacky, and paranormal side. Everything is real and nothing is staged. At no point during the tour will we ever try to scare you. Although, that may happen naturally on its own.

A few years ago, we hired two consultants - a leading expert on the paranormal and a proven clairvoyant - to help us bring this skeptical (and not theatrical) event to you. In addition, all of the guides for this tour have gone through extensive training and testing for psychic sensitivity. They are also all certified members of the International Ghost Hunters Society and participants in the local Ghostlusters Paranormal Society.

For some, the highlight is venturing below Old Town Pizza to see if the equipment introduces you Nina, a former 'working girl' who is known to haunt the 1888 Merchant Hotel. For others, it's a rare visit to the White Eagle Saloon - often called one of the top five haunted places on the West Coast - where Sam and has been known to trigger EMF Meters through voice interaction during the tour. And, after joining this adventure, some people have called it a 'Ghost Hunting 101' training session and were trilled to get an understanding of all the different types of hauntings including Residuals, Object Hauntings and Poltergeists.

Kids of all ages are welcome on our 7 p.m. tour where we do not get into murders, suicides, or other controversial materials. Or, if you dare, buy tickets now for our exclusive 10 p.m. over-18 night crawling event on Fridays and Saturdays where no children are allowed so we stop saying "here they rented rooms by the hour" and get into the gory details. No matter which one you join, you'll have a exciting and entertaining time on our weird, wacky, and eerie crawl through some of the creepiest parts of Portland. No matter what, be sure to bring your cameras as many people have captured so-called orbs on their cameras!
